Bad Company 2 NEW PC Patch info leaked!
Bad Company 2’s Current Version is Build 529483. The upgrade to version 540001 Build, aka R8 PC Patch, and R12 Server Update is promised soon. New information has surfaced regarding the delayed Battlefield Bad Company 2 R8 PC Patch. In-game screen-shots of the new “Chat System” were leaked recently by a Russian Blog. The new Chat System will allow users to chat while they're dead, as well as view all messages that have been displayed each round. There are 3 different modes in total for this upgrade according to the Russian Blog.
In addition to the upgraded Chat System the Helicopters will be receiving a huge overhaul to their defensive systems and handling capabilities. Countermeasures in the form of flares will be added to all along with greatly improved handling.
SPECACT Camouflage packages are being released also with the new patch. They reportedly will be available for purchase at the EA Store. No information has been divulged if the Dr. Pepper or Taco Bell Codes can be redeemed for the PC Version SPECACT Upgrades. It was rumored to be an Xbox 360 Promotion only.
It has also been discovered that EA will not be releasing any new maps although; they are working on Conquest for Nelson Bay. It has not been confirmed if this is being released with R8.

Also, the balance tweaks to weapons are as follows:
Slightly increased the damage of the UZI at long range.
The AKs74u now has more felt recoil when aiming.
The G3, VSS, and all SemiAutomatic rifles now settle slightly faster between shots when aiming.
The PKM, Type 88LMG, G3, An94, and 40mm shotgun have returned to their former glory.
Increased the damage of the MG3 to bring it in line with the rest of the LMGs.
Fixed a bug where the Saiga12 with slugs would do too much damage at long range.
Fixed a bug where the SVU would do too little damage at long range.
Fixed a bug where M95 rounds would not kill armored targets with headshots.
